Will be doing a solo exhibition the Rich Mix 11 Aug. 19:00-00:00. All welcome.

This exhibition will entail a range of "wildlife" sculptures, paintings and of course mushrooms. This is not a taxidermist exercise. I assure you this will be an esthetically pleasing yet unorthodox show...
All works will go up for sale. Subscribe to this blog for updates and reminders.

The Defence Of Naaitsirhc

A couple of months ago I got some shocking news. An old school friend of mine got involved in some religious sect and her, her brother and fiancé brutally murdered her parents. This is an intelligent, talented girl. This disturbed me immensely as she was a close friend of mine. I've been trying to make sense of it ever since; was this some sort of psychosis or religious extremism. To me it seems very unnatural and inhuman to kill ones parents. Since then I've had some sleepless nights and bad dreams. The one night i dreamt that i actually met Satan face to face and that i had some binding contract with him....This is when I created these "guardians", these Father Christmas, biker-like celestial figures fighting evil. Its strange how when your head and heart isfull, painting happens very impulsively and without thinking, at least without rational thought."

Teeth 75/60cm
Rolling Gabbages 120/60cm
The outside black line is 2k car paint and the colored in parts is super enamel. This picture took really long to complete, because of all the little compartments and detail. As I have grown in my art I’ve also become much more perfectionistic. You will also find the finishes on the masonite canvasses are now near perfect. My initial name for the painting was “The Jester Cabbage”, because of the Joker like colors of the right side “cabbage/circle”. But in the spirit of abstract art please indulge and see and decide from your own perspective
Lemmings 120/60cm SOLD
Lemmings are small rodents, usually found in or near the Arctic. Together with the voles and muskrats, they make up the subfamily Arvicolinae (also known as Microtinae), which forms part of the largest mammal radiation by far, the superfamily Muroidea, which also includes the rats, mice, hamsters, and gerbils.
Parrot Fish 120/80 SOLD
I remember when I was really young my family went to Mauritius were we snorkeled all day every day. And often when I was under water I heard this scratching noise. It turned out to be what is called a Parrot Fish; a tropical fish with a rounded nose and these protruding front teeth that bites into the coral reef to feed. The slightly abstract version. Enjoy.
Flight of the Bumblebee 120/60cm
"The Flight of the Bumblebee" is a famous orchestral interlude written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, composed in 1899-1900.It is recognizable for its frantic pace when played up to tempo, with nearly uninterrupted runs of conjunct chromatic sixteenth notes. It is not so much the pitch or range of the notes that are played that challenges the musician, but simply the musician's ability to move to them quickly enough.
Conjoined Twins 3/2meters
Breakfast on a Mirror 120/40cm SOLD

Loud Mouth 450/1200mm
I think it’s a virtue to be able to be comfortable in moments of silence. I find it amusing to see what people start talking about when they need to fill these moments of silence. This guy just won’t stop talking! Probable a good thing if you’re a painting… (All work will arrive rolled up in bubble wrap and covered with carton and/or plywood to prevent breakage)

"Man's Hand On Mother Earth" 120/64cm

On the left is a piece of earth. You’ll see the different contents, not particularly accurate though. On the right the orange represents the destruction and pollution from man. So quite ironically not Mother’s hand over man, but “Man’s Hand Over Mother Earth.”

"Pop Virtue" 40/40cm SOLD

I’ve always opposed popular culture when it comes to music, fashion or any creative arts. But on deeper inspection you SOMETIMES find really original compositions from the composers/artists behind the scenes. Behind the pretty blond bombshell on TV there is a artists, a mind experimenting with new cutting edge ideas, in a very competitive, merciless market. Pop Virtue There is value within the very simple!

"The Moon Servant" 120/60cm SOLD

This is surely a personal favorite. I make the canvasses myself, and in order for the car paint to not suck into the wood I need to prime is really well before I spray it. With this piece I got a particularly nice finish. It's real "glasslike". I made this one is the same time frame as "Shark" and "Man", see the reflection on "Man" as I was taking it's picture. Moon Servant... For me it's got a very mystical feel and looks like some living creature paying its respects to the moon. I did an outline of the image first and then had to fill it in with color. This was a very lengthy process because I had to get the paint very liquid so it wouldn't flow over the outline. What I basically do is, drip a blob of paint in a section, say the big blue eye, and then move this (very thinned, liquid) blob with the backside of a brush to color in the whole section. Enjoy!!!
